Ti:ME (Technology in Music Education) Professional Development Workshops
This summer, I participated in 2 fantastic professional development workshops offered to music educators in Pinellas County Schools. Each workshop was held daily, Monday-Thursday, from 8:30a-3:30a and included a stipend.
I’m already Ti:ME Level 1 Certified, so I took two Level 2 courses this year: Digital Audio and Notation.
The first week, I had Level 2B – Digital Audio, with Dr. Steve Estrella. This course focused primarily on exploring the free Audacity software and how to use this tool in our teaching. I enjoyed the projects in this class very much. We had many opportunities to apply knowledge and be creative. Check out my work here.
In week two, I had Level 2A – Notation (Finale), with Dr. Floyd Richmond. This was a very useful course because it gave me plenty of time to work in Finale. I’ve been using Finale around 30 years and use it frequently to prepare materials for my theory classes as well as composing and making arrangements for my performance ensembles. Check out some of my work here.
